Board game fans, strategy lovers, naval combat enthusiasts, and classic game seekers.
Setup: Place your fleet of ships on your grid. Ships can be placed horizontally or vertically but not diagonally. Gameplay: Take turns with the enemy to call out grid coordinates (e.g., B5) to try and hit each other's ships. Hits and Misses: Mark hits and misses on your tracking grid. A hit means part of a ship is located at that coordinate; a miss means no ship is there. Winning: The game continues until one player sinks all of the opponent's ships.
Target in patterns - systematic searching finds ships faster than random shots.
Easy to Medium — grid coordinates are immediately intuitive; AI pattern recognition creates genuine guessing tension in every match.
Battleship dates to 1931, but the core concept is even older — French military pencil-and-paper games from WWI called 'L’Attaque' and 'La Bataille de la Marne' used similar coordinate-based targeting. The game became so culturally significant that it was made into a feature film in 2012.
